And with the explosion of climate change crises happening around the world -- from wildfires and ocean rise to whole species death and superstorms -- why don't we discuss it more often? Buff is Senior Clergy Fellow with Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light, a network of people across faiths taking practical action to respond to climate change. Reading & Discussion of 'The Holly Tree'

Join us at the Octagon House Museum, 1004 3rd St, Hudson, WI, for a reading and discussion of “The Holly Tree” by Charles Dickens on Saturday, December 14 at 4:30 p.m. One of Dickens’s annual Christmas stories, “The Holly Tree” is a sweetly sentimental tale within a tale. Dickens relates in entertaining fashion his experiences at the Holly Tree Inn, where he was snowed up while on a melancholy errand.

Wild Things Masks! (K-6)

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, November 9 at 10:30 a.m. for Wild Things Masks! This class will use Maurice Sendak’s book Where the Wild Things Are as inspiration for making wearable 3-dimensional creature masks. Kids will learn how to realistically draw fur, feathers, scales and other textures to combine the features of various animals into one fantastic and terrifying Wild Thing! Loft Class: Creative Writing Sampler

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, November 2 at 10:30 a.m. for Creative Writing Sampler. Not sure if you’re a poet, a novelist, or a memoirist? Come and sample poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction by exploring craft techniques common to all three and experimenting with each through creative writing exercises. Presented by The Loft Literary Center.

Celebrating Dia de Los Muertos-Wire and Clay Sculptures

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Friday, October 25 at 10:30 a.m. for Celebrating Dia de Los Muertos-Wire and Clay Sculptures. Learn about the cultural significance of Day of the Dead or All Souls Day. Work with an artist to create a colorful wire and clay skeleton, a reminder that the holiday is a time to recall special ancestors who have passed away.
