Victorian Superstitions & Ghost Tours

The St. Croix County Historical Society will delve into the supernatural with a candlelit tour of the Octagon House Museum with our Victorian Superstitions and Ghost Stories on Saturday, October 19th at 7 p.m.

This tour offers a glimpse into Victorian superstitions and customs surrounding death.

Christmas Tour of Homes

Get into the holiday spirit with this tour of four privately owned homes and the Octagon House. Disney Trivia Night for Teens

Be our guest at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m. for Disney Trivia Night!  We'll cover everything from the classic to new hits while singing along to your favorite Disney tunes. Prizes awarded to the winners! Open to teens  ages 12-18.

Silly Millies Clay Art for Kids

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m. for Silly Millies Clay Art. Stack and wrap colored polymer clay to magically reveal designs in the clay! Create bug wings and then use wire to make a bug like a dragonfly or beetle that you can put in a plant or hang on a wall. You’ll take your creation home and bake it in your own oven. Ages 6-12. New to Medicare

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m. for New to Medicare. This presentation reviews what is covered by Parts A, B, C and D of Medicare, as well as Medicare supplement options available. The enrollment process and options for enrollment in Medicare will be discussed along with the personal costs of the program. Homelessness and Affordable Housing: Deepen Conviction and Focus Attention!

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Tuesday, October 15 for this community call to action on homelessness and affordable housing. The event will begin at 5:30 PM with light refreshments followed by "Awareness, Acceptance and Attitude Leading to Action" program at 6 PM. You Don’t Look Like a Veteran

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Monday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. for You Don’t Look Like a Veteran. Nearly 29,000 women veterans call Minnesota home. Learn about the faces of this diverse and important segment of the military—their service, their sacrifice, and their needs as they transition to civilian life. Chris Magnusson, Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, identifies the challenges women veterans face, from being invisible, to employment and housing, and MST and PTSD. Mobile Sign Shop at Stillwater Public Library

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, October 12 between 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for the Mobile Sign Shop! Make your own carved sign. You draw on the wooden sign blank, we carve it with a router, and you paint it! Two artists will be on hand to facilitate the drop-in outdoor event. First come, first served. For all ages, but young children will need adult assistance. Weather permitting, this program will be held on the library's 4th Street Lawn. Mad Science presents Radical Robots

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, October 12 at 10:30 a.m. for Mad Science presents Radical Robots. Operate different model robots that use a variety of sensory devices, such as infrared, sound or light detection. Operate a robot with six legs or one with wheels and command a robot to navigate an obstacle course. Try out a robotic arm and build your own Mechano-Hand to take home. Friends Book Donations Drive

Donate your gently used books to the Friends of the Stillwater Public Library.  The Friends will collect books on Saturday, October 19 and Saturday, October 26 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the library parking ramp on Third Street. 

None of the following items will be accepted: encyclopedias, magazines, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, textbooks, religious materials, National Geographic, videos, cassettes, partially used puzzle books. Read more about Friends Book Donations Drive
