Harry Potter's Birthday Celebration

Come to the Stillwater Library on Wednesday, July 31 to celebrate the Harry Potter book series. Activities for youth will take place through out the library from 1:30-5:00 p.m. The Ministry of Magic strongly encourages your presence at this celebration of the Boy Who Lived. Watch for more details but there will be photo-ops, costume contests, crafts, sorting house activities, trivia, butterbeer tasting, HP board games, displays, and a mandrake scavenger hunt.

Mad Science presents Che-Mystery aka "Harry Potter science class"

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Wednesday, July 31 at 1:00 p.m. for "Che-Mystery" with Mad Science of MN. Eliminate the mystery in chemistry! Learn the difference between physical and chemical reactions. Watch chemicals react to make colors appear and disappear. Learn how crystals grow. See Styrofoam sizzle away in seconds! Snake Discovery

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. for Snake Discovery. Slither into the world of reptiles by meeting several species that call Minnesota home! From diet to habitat and behavior, with plenty of fun facts in-between, attendees will learn what makes our cold-blooded friends so unique in this engaging program. Kids and adults are welcome to touch (and even hold) the ambassador animals for a truly hands-on experience!

Minnesota Reptile Show

Unleash your cold blooded side and marvel at reptiles such as snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, chameleons, geckos, dragons and more. Gawk at small exotic mammals, such as sugar gliders, and hedgehogs or browse through various animal vendors for the latest food, cages and toys for your next pet. Lumberjack Days

Providing an engaging and educational event for 85 years, Lumberjack Days welcomes all community members to gather at the heart of Minnesota’s birthplace. Aquatennial Celebrations

Kick off the week of celebrations with Minnesota’s largest nighttime parade along Hennepin Avenue, marvel at the Twin Cities River Rats as they perform entertaining tricks on the water, up your fitness game and partake in the Torchlight 5k or sit back and watch in awe at one of the top five annual firework displays in the nation on Saturday evening. Movie Day: Viewer's Choice

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, July 11 at 3:00 p.m. for Movie Day!  Beat the heat and enjoy the a/c at the library where we'll be showing a yet-to-be-determined movie. We'll collect votes for which movie is shown: "The Book of Life" vs. "Because of Winn-Dixie". Voting begins in June.

Woven Paper Kente Cloth (art for K-6)

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Monday, July 15 from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. for Woven Paper Kente Cloth (art for K-6). Inspired by colorful textiles from the country of Ghana in Africa we will weave many bright-colored papers into a black paper “loom”. We will then draw fun designs inspired by Kente cloth onto the colorful squares creating our own beautiful patterned placemat. This workshop is for children in K-6th grade.
