"I Survived the Shark Attacks" Book Party

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, July 18 at 10:30 a.m. for a fun, activity filled hour based on the book, "I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916" by Lauren Tarshis. This program is best enjoyed by those familiar with the book. More details to be announced! Geared toward kids ages 7-10 years old.

Apollo 11 50th Anniversary

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. for Apollo 11 50th Anniversary. With the 50th Anniversary of Neil Armstrong becoming the 1st person to set foot on the Moon quickly approaching (July 2019), this program presents some of the history, the vehicles, the mission, and what was learned during the historic Apollo missions.

Summer Concerts on the Terrace

Bring your friends and family and join us for Stillwater Public Library's FREE summer concert series outside on the terrace. Enjoy great music and soak in the beautiful views of scenic Stillwater and the St. Croix River.

Ann Reed: Thursday, June 13 at 6 PM
Songwriter, singer, guitarist Ann Reed has been performing for more than 35 years, storytelling from the human experience with songs that find a permanent place in the heart. Stillwater LEGO Build

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on the third Tuesday in June and July from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. for LEGO Build. Come to the library and attempt some LEGO challenges! Creations will be on display in the stairwell glass display case.

Art Cart

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Wednesdays from 3:00-7:30 p.m. for Art Cart. In addition to being fun, making things with your hands benefits child development, especially fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Each week, we'll provide supplies and a suggested project that you can make with your child. There will also be coloring sheets. This self paced activity for you to enjoy with your child(ren) will be set up in the storytime room.

Teens Teach STEM to Kids!

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Tuesdays in June and July from 1:00 - 2:00pm for Teens Teach STEM to Kids! Each week, a short STEM activity will be led by trained teen volunteers at 1:00pm and repeated at 1:30pm, if necessary. Activities are best for ages 6-10. No late starts.

Program is free and registration is not required, but space is limited. These programs are in partnership with Bayport Library where similar activities will be offered weekly on Tuesdays. Read more about Teens Teach STEM to Kids!

Lumberjack Days

Join in on this 85th anniversary celebration of history in the birthplace of Minnesota. Enjoy a parade, live music, a downhill derby and lumberjack shows during this festive 3-day local event. Read more about Lumberjack Days

Hudson Booster Days

Hudson’s annual Independence Day celebration lasts all weekend with carnival rides and games, a parade (Saturday at 11 a.m.), live music, food and fireworks (Friday at dusk). Carnival begins Thursday 5 p.m.-close, Friday events are 1 p.m.-close, Saturday events are 12:30 p.m.-close, Sunday events are 10 a.m.-noon. Read more about Hudson Booster Days

Midsommar Dag

From the organizers: "Midsommar Dag is the most important holiday of the year and one of the most uniquely Swedish in the way it is celebrated. The Majstang (the Swedish version of a Maypole) is decorated with greens and flowers then raised in the center of town. Traditional Swedish music and dances celebrate the long days of summer!"
