Crafty Projects You Can Do at Home for Valentine's Day

The best valentines are the homemade kind, but that doesn’t mean the art has to suffer. We asked Karron Nottingham at Off the Wall Studio for her suggestions on some do-it-yourself ideas for the holiday, and she delivered! Rowing Is Growing

The Hudson-based St. Croix Rowing Club is a nonprofit sculling group providing adults with competitive or recreational rowing opportunities. Efforts to start the club began in 1999, thought up by rowing enthusiasts Hal and Kathy Barnes, Tom Palmer and Maynard Schultz. The first lessons were offered in 2001. The group now competes in a variety of events each year, including many local and less-than-local regattas. Read more about Rowing Is Growing

Awarding Locals at the Chamber Gala

The second Chamber Winter Gala Community Awards Celebration takes place this month at The Heights Hall in Oak Park Heights. The event promises to be a wonderful and sophisticated evening spent making connections and honoring local business. Chamber executive director Robin Anthony says this gala is a perfect opportunity for people to come together, “and celebrate bridging business and community.” The event is open to the public and will be filled with live music from Shoop Jazz, a full dinner, cash bar and auction. A Kid’s Guide to Writing Short Stories (Grades 4-7)

Then join us and explore different ways to come up with story ideas, and then shape them into engaging, fun stories - complete with characters, plot, and setting - that you can share with all your friends! Moving Target Mystery Book Club

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on the fourth Wednesday of each month (January-November) from 6:30 - 8:00 pm for our popular mystery readers club, the Moving Target Mystery Book Club.  Group members read individual titles of their choice based on the theme, setting, or topic selected by the group at the end of each meeting. All mystery enthusiasts are welcome.
