Gregory Ross of Ross Orthodontics started practicing in 1995, after graduating from the University of Minnesota. “He started with a group practice [in Hudson], then took off on his own in 2012,” says Holly Spannbauer, office manager at Ross Ortho. Now Ross has two locations (one in Hudson and one in Forest Lake, Minn.) at which he is the sole doctor. He specializes in orthodontics and dental sleep medicine. The latter is what really sets him apart.

Immigration in Minnesota

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Wednesday, April 11 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for Immigration in Minnesota. Presented by the Department of Human Services Resettlement Program Office, this training covers the basics of the refugee journey from the refugee camp through the extensive security vetting process to U.S. arrival. The presentation clarifies the legal definition of who is eligible to have refugee status, describes the Refugee Admissions System, the role of resettlement agencies, the community and the State of Minnesota. Lens on St. Croix Valley: Capturing Nature

Local high school senior Violet Penman, who will attend UW-River Falls this year, has a natural instinct for photography. Not only did her photo Valley Bee win first-place in this magazine’s photo contest, but her only other submission, Busy Bee, took home second place. The photos are stunning and colorful, with a vivid focus on the details of their insect subjects.
 
For these photos, Penman was inspired by a lifelong interest in bees. “It’s amazing how such small, delicate creatures play such an integral role in our environment,” she says.
