Artist Reception: Jennifer Davenport

The Stillwater Public Library is pleased to present "Within", an exhibition of drawings by local artist Jennifer Davenport. Davenport's charcoal drawings depict young girls in moments of concentration, exploration, and discovery. The exhibit will be on display in the gallery during May and June. Hammer Residences, Inc. is a Minnesota non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Founded in 1923 by Alvina Hammer, Hammer provides residential caring support for adult and children with developmental disabilities. Hammer Residences, Inc. serves more than 1500 individuals with a wide range of intellectual disabilities like Autism and Down syndrome. Hammer serves 284 people in 36 homes and 10 apartment complexes in the western metro of the Twin Cities. We also provide specialized services to more than 1,600 individuals in their homes. Perceptions of Norway

Perceptions of Norway seeks to expand common perceptions of Norwegians and their culture. Through the eyes of a fellow American, photographer Nancy Bundt — an expat residing in Norway for 25 years — guests to the exhibit will be able to witness the photos and stories of a diverse group of Norwegians.

PAWS to Read with Bella

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Monday, May 14 between 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM for PAWS to Read with Bella. Did you know the library is one place your child can build confidence reading to a furry friend? Bella, the Golden Retriever, is a Certified Therapy dog who visits certain Mondays and she loves when kids read to her. This program is geared toward kids ages 7-12.

Storytime for Babies

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Tuesdays from 10:15 - 11:00 am for Storytime for Babies. Stories, songs, bounces and playtime make this storytime perfect for children newborn to 24 months and their caregiver. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Star Gazing with Mike Lynch

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Monday, April 23 from 7:45 PM - 9:30 PM for an evening of astronomy and stargazing with meteorologist Mike Lynch. The night will begin at 7:45 PM with an indoor orientation of the night sky with maps and constellation diagrams provided. Then we will go outside onto the terrace and take in the big celestial show overhead. Enjoy a constellation tour and share some of the lore of Big Bear, Little Bear, Cassiopeia, and many more.
