When Karen Engelbretson and her husband Steve Nusbaum decided to move to the St. Croix Valley, the natural beauty surrounding them became much more than a home; it became the inspiration for art.

 

On a summer weekend, Brookside Bar and Grill easily serves that many in a day—more during the art fair or motorcycle rallies.

 

Started in the summer of 2003 to bring awareness and exposure to local independent film, the Square Lake Film Festival advertises on its website, “the event is a way to bring some exposure to the awesome independent and largely unrecognized film work being done in and around the Twin Cities.”

Everyone has heard the old adage that a dog is a man’s best friend, but given the special relationships that horses and humans have long had, perhaps dogs should share that title (and the adage amended to include women, too).

 

In her first year as president of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Stillwater’s Robin Wolpert has heard frustrations from people in Washington County about how little they hear about the judicial system in the news.

The start of the school year at St. Patrick’s in Hudson will bring new students to school via the introduction of a 4-year-old kindergarten program, which St. Patrick’s will host as part of a community partnership with the district-wide program being launched by Hudson public schools. St.

 

Sylvan Learning Center offers a number of ways for students to succeed in school. This means anything from help through homework support to transcripts to ACTs to accelerated reading courses.
