  • Reducing threats such as window collisions, toxins, and harmful human activities, often due to a lack of understanding of birds’ needs
  • Engaging people in learning about, enjoying, and helping birds thrive

Woodbury-based EMSO presents The Orchestra Family

The East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) is pleased to present The Orchestra Family, a concert highlighting the EMSO family of musicians. The performance will be held Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University, 1531 Hewitt Avenue, St. Paul, MN.  Admission to this concert is free.  Donations in support of the orchestra’s work in the community are always appreciated. Friends Spring Book Sale

Book lovers and bargain hunters are in for a treat when the Friends of the Stillwater Public Library host their Annual Spring Used Book Sale on April 15-18, 2020. The Book Sale is the Friends' most important fundraiser, and proceeds go to support the materials and programs at the library.

One Voice Mixed Chorus presents Bayard Rustin: The Man Behind the Dream

Join One Voice in honoring the life and work of gay, African American civil rights activist Bayard Rustin with The Man Behind the Dream, a commissioned work that tells the story of Rustin’s early years growing up as a Quaker, singer, athlete and activist who became a mentor to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and organizer of the 1963 March on Washington. Composer Steve Milloy uses two story-guides, the full chorus, and a 5-piece band to chronicle Rustin’s influence on Dr. King’s strategy of peaceful protest and pays tribute to current day activists. "MOO" After-show Party

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, March 28 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for "MOO" after-show party. Following the author/illustrator program, there will be cow-themed crafts and activities available to enjoy, including a chance to send some "MOO-mail" to the gregarious puppet Cow!

March MOO-stery Month Celebration featuring local author David LaRochelle and local illustrator Mike Wohnoutka

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, March 28 at 10:15 a.m. for March MOO-stery Month Celebration featuring local author David LaRochelle and local illustrator Mike Wohnoutka featuring their book MOO! The program will last approximately 30 minutes, after which the presenters will be available to sign books and interact with families. There will be craft activities and maybe a surprise. Torn Paper Pandas - Art for Kids, Grades 3-5

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. for Torn Paper Pandas - Art for Kids. Pandas are an endearing animal which is native to mainland China. Though they are endangered, many are trying to help preserve pandas and their habitat. Preschool Drive-in Moo-vie

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, March 5 at 10:15 a.m. for Preschool Drive-in Moo-vie.  It’s a month of MOO-stery! Why are COWS appearing in the library? Friends Book Donations Drive

Donate your gently used books to the Friends of the Stillwater Public Library.  The Friends will collect books on Saturday, March 28 and Saturday, April 4 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the library parking ramp on Third Street. 

None of the following items will be accepted: encyclopedias, magazines, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, textbooks, religious materials, National Geographic, videos, cassettes, partially used puzzle books. Read more about Friends Book Donations Drive

Japanese Zen Gardens

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. for Japanese Zen Gardens. Japanese Zen Gardens are quiet places to reflect on the beauty of nature. Learn about the art of Zen gardening with artist Jeanette Dickinson. Then build your own Japanese Zen garden using a variety of miniature objects including stones, sand, and small model greenery. Class is for adults.
