The East Metro Symphony Orchestra (EMSO) is pleased to present The Orchestra Family, a concert highlighting the EMSO family of musicians. The performance will be held Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University, 1531 Hewitt Avenue, St. Paul, MN.  Admission to this concert is free.  Donations in support of the orchestra’s work in the community are always appreciated.

The Orchestra Family will feature both solo and small ensemble performances by new and seasoned EMSO members, as well as pieces performed by the full orchestra. Special performances will include an EMSO string quintet playing Franz Schubert’s Quintet in C Major; East Metro Jazz performing selections from Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio; a string trio performing Marc Mellits’ Tapas; and solo performances by orchestra members Megan Gangl, Ellie Erickson, and John Sassaman.  EMSO’s 2019 Silent Auction “Conduct the Orchestra” winner Chris Woeltge will also guest conduct “Nimrod” from Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations.  EMSO is pleased to be presenting this concert at Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University in St. Paul.  Sundin Music Hall is a new venue for EMSO and is considered one of the most intimate and best-sounding performance spaces in the Twin Cities.  A meet-and-greet with orchestra members and refreshments will immediately follow the performance.

The Orchestra Family is the third concert in EMSO’s 2019-2020 New Beginnings concert season.  For more concert or season information, visit EMSO’s website at www.emsorch.org.
