Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m. for Silly Millies Clay Art. Stack and wrap colored polymer clay to magically reveal designs in the clay! Create bug wings and then use wire to make a bug like a dragonfly or beetle that you can put in a plant or hang on a wall. You’ll take your creation home and bake it in your own oven. Ages 6-12. Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, October 12 between 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for the Mobile Sign Shop! Make your own carved sign. You draw on the wooden sign blank, we carve it with a router, and you paint it! Two artists will be on hand to facilitate the drop-in outdoor event. First come, first served. For all ages, but young children will need adult assistance. Weather permitting, this program will be held on the library's 4th Street Lawn. Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, October 12 at 10:30 a.m. for Mad Science presents Radical Robots. Operate different model robots that use a variety of sensory devices, such as infrared, sound or light detection. Operate a robot with six legs or one with wheels and command a robot to navigate an obstacle course. Try out a robotic arm and build your own Mechano-Hand to take home. Ages 6-12. Join us at Stillwater Public Library on the first Saturday of each month through November between 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. for Brick Party. For kids of all ages to use their imagination to create using bricks derived from a word meaning "play well". Bricks will be provided by the library please leave yours at home. This is a time for open build but challenge ideas will be offered. Ages 5-12 can meet in the Storytime Room but older youth can build in the Teen Program Room during the same time. Close out your summer this September with the YMCA and Royal Credit Union Foundation, camping out at the fifth annual Prairie Burn Music Festival. Proceeds benefit the YMCA Camp Endowment Fund, allowing children great camp experiences in the coming years. The festival will feature live music, camp games and activities for all ages. Come listen to the sweet sounds of Yam Haus and Haley Bonar or grab some grub at a nearby food truck.

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Wednesdays from 3:00 - 7:30 p.m. to experience "Art Cart." In addition to being fun, making things with your hands benefits child development, especially fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Each week, we'll provide supplies and a suggested project that you can make with your child. This self paced activity for you to enjoy with your child(ren) will be set up in the storytime room.
