WEED ‘EM & REAP

Help the naturalist weed, and learn during this fun work event! Experienced and new gardeners alike are invited to dig in to the native plant gardens at the Maplewood Nature Center with the Naturalist. By the time you leave, you will be able to identify at least four native plants and four weeds. We will be transplanting plants, so there may be a chance to take some divisions home. iNATURALIST TRAINING 

(ADULTS, AND CHILDREN 10 AND UP WITH ADULT)

Learn to Track Phenology with iNaturalist. We’ll meet one Friday every month March-May. We will walk and observe plants and wildlife happenings on the trails, and then record what we see back at the nature center. Option to bring your own smartphone or tablet (ideally download the iNaturalist app ahead of time). If rainy, program will be cancelled. Read more about iNATURALIST TRAINING 

Star Gazing with Mike Lynch

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Monday, April 23 from 7:45 PM - 9:30 PM for an evening of astronomy and stargazing with meteorologist Mike Lynch. The night will begin at 7:45 PM with an indoor orientation of the night sky with maps and constellation diagrams provided. Then we will go outside onto the terrace and take in the big celestial show overhead. Enjoy a constellation tour and share some of the lore of Big Bear, Little Bear, Cassiopeia, and many more. Play & Learn: Block Party

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, April 26 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm for Play & Learn: Block Party. Come play, build, and learn together at a block party - library style! We’ll have a construction-themed storytime followed by open play with a variety of blocks. Ages 0-6.

Green Card Voices Panel Discussion

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Monday, April 16 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm for Green Card Voices Panel Discussion. Green Card Voices Executive Director Tea Rozman-Clark will moderate a panel of three immigrant speakers, each from a different continent. The panel will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Ms. Rozman-Clark. Join us for these amazing first-person stories and check out the exhibit.

Immigration in Minnesota

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Wednesday, April 11 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for Immigration in Minnesota. Presented by the Department of Human Services Resettlement Program Office, this training covers the basics of the refugee journey from the refugee camp through the extensive security vetting process to U.S. arrival. The presentation clarifies the legal definition of who is eligible to have refugee status, describes the Refugee Admissions System, the role of resettlement agencies, the community and the State of Minnesota. March Floral Design Workshop

Inspired by nature, this willow basket wreath will be your favorite accent for a springtime welcome.
