Red Bull Crashed Ice 2017

For the past five years, St. Paul has hosted the Red Bull Crashed Ice event right outside the beautiful Cathedral of St. Paul. As the third event in the tour, Crashed Ice comes back to Minnesota, and is projected to draw crowds of up to 100,000. Alzheimer’s Association Purple Gala – 25th Anniversary

The
Alzheimer’s Association annual Purple Gala is a time to celebrate and honor the
lives of people impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The evening
includes a reception and silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner, live
auction, entertainment, and after party with a live band. Proceeds from the
Gala raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Art Juchno’s Award-winning Images

The past two summers, St. Croix Valley Magazine has hosted a photo contest recognizing images that celebrate Valley life. This year’s winner is Art Juchno of Hudson, who submitted a large selection of pirate images.

How long have you been taking photos?
I’ve been working in photography since 1974. I was a producer/director/videographer at Wisconsin Public Television, and for the UW-Stout campus after that. Stillwater’s Revé Bistro and Bar Flourishes under Manager and Head Chef Mike Willenbring

Revé Bistro and Bar in Stillwater is advertised as “new American fare,” but its name is French for “dreamt.” It’s fitting, says Carol Stabenow, who owns the restaurant with her two sons, Matt and Nate, because it was a dream of her husband, Mark, to open a restaurant with his boys. “My husband loved to cook. He and our sons dreamed about Revé for a long time,” she says. Unfortunately, Mark died in 2009 before Revé moved from dream to reality. For Love of the Scanley Cup

While it’s true that the turn of the year invites new beginnings, in Scandia, January is all about traditions. So when Vinterfest, the city’s winter celebration honoring traditional Swedish celebrations, was a year away from celebrating ten years in 2015, it was no surprise that the festival added the state’s most classic pastime: outdoor hockey. Under the clever name Scanley Cup, the tournament is now in its fourth year, and has grown into a beloved battle of friendly enemies and not-so friendly elements. Meet Stillwater’s Go-to Pet Sitter Megan Polley

Megan Polley is Stillwater’s go-to pet sitter, a profession she crafted from her passion for animals, and now 10 years later she continues to provide support for local families’ four-legged friends.

Hudson’s Best Clowns-for-Hire Sharon and Richard Young

Sharon and Richard Young’s story is about clowning, but it is also about midlife love. Married about nine years, Sharon concludes that “there are more ups than downs of married clown life.” She and Richard both cite travel, costuming and performance experiences as bringing them together as clowns and as a married couple.
