Seeing a food truck parked on the side of the road is a true sign of summer. But what about 32 food trucks all in the same place? Stillwater is bringing back their Food Truck Extravaganza for the second year, featuring more than double the vendors they had last year. While most vendors come from the Twin Cities area, a few are local, such as Leo’s Grill & Malt Shop. Food will range from $3–$18.
Russell’s Traveling Kitchen is one returning vendor. Started in 2017, Kerry Shields Dos started their truck with her husband, Channe, and their daughter, Kaylee. Kaylee named the truck, inspired by her 2-year-old brother Russell. But the family ties don’t stop there. “We are definitely a family oriented small business and couldn’t do it without the support of our parents,” Dos says.
If you aren’t hungry yet, that won’t last long. Russell’s Traveling Kitchen offers their “trademarked” Pho French Dip, egg rolls and the cleverly named Russel Sprouts. Russell’s is often rotating items, so you never know what they might have in store.
Last year the event welcomed over 6,000 attendants. With more vendors and extended hours, the crowd is expected to be even bigger. Come on an empty stomach, because you’re going to want to try it all.
