Washington County Fair Has Been a Favorite for Nearly 150 Years

Washington County Fair August 1-5

For 147 years, the Washington County Fair has been an important part of the local community—and for good reason. All members of your family will have a full day of fun thanks to everything from the carnival to the countless activities.

The fair opens Wednesday, August 1 , and fair-goers can pack as much fun as they desire into one day; swing by the fair office on this date for carnival ride discount tickets until 2 p.m. These will get you 10 rides for $20 so you can enjoy all your favorites.

August 1 is also Senior Day, and includes fair festivities like balloon animals from Ms. Jaz-ee and the Wild Things Zoo Attraction.

Stick around because you won’t want to miss the traditional Opening Day Parade at 6 p.m. on August 1. Come by to find something fun to keep everyone entertained, from puppets, to bubbles, to garden shows and more. Celebrate on Saturday by wearing red, white and blue for All-American Day.

For those who love nostalgia, “Elvis” will perform on August 3. The Demolition Derby is on August 4, along with the O’Shea Irish Dancers, Sneaky Pete’s Garden Tractor Pull and the Cloverbud Pet Show.

Animals, magic, music and more are many of the major highlights of the Washington County Fair. Grab the family and head over for a fun-filled week.
