A Little Upkeep at the Stillwater Public Library

Stillwater Public Library renovates its desk space, just in time for kids’ events this month.

After its expansive remodeling 10 years ago, Stillwater Public Library has made a few structural adjustments with help from Gardner Builders throughout the winter months. And sure, grouping the information and circulation desks might sound straightforward enough, but it’s the result of a facilities study conducted by MSR Design, a committee of library board members, staff, representatives from Friends of the Stillwater Public Library, and the Stillwater Library Foundation.

By co-locating the circulation and information desks, staff will have each other’s backs more, eliminating desk confusion among visitors and freeing up staff members’ time to move throughout the library to better serve patrons. Funding comes from the library’s 2016 capital budget and gift funds.

In the spirit of all that, and to make use of the more efficiently arranged space, the library will host kids’ events this month in the children’s section.
