Perch Lake Morning by Bob Lyksett

What’s my inspiration behind this photograph? I crave situations where the lighting can change dramatically during a shooting session. The combination of early morning light and fog always present a challenge because both change so fast and independently!

Cynthia Mosedale and Bill Kaufmann have been collaborating for more than 30 years. The couple has been married since 1980, before which they found each other through their shared passions. “It kind of fell together,” Mosedale says. “I was a teacher, and Bill was a beginning potter.

For kids with special needs, a trip to camp or a therapeutic summer activity can be a life-changing experience. Bethany’s Butterflies Scholarship, which started last year, has the goal of making that quintessential summer pastime accessible for more young people with special needs.

Tim Bouvine always has been a Midwestern guy. He’s spent his life in the area, with the exception of a few years in Texas. Bouvine is also a family man, with two adult kids and now two step kids (after marrying his wife Trish last summer).

There is a venue in the small town of St. Croix Falls, Wis., celebrating its 28th season this year, where community members can gather for great performances in a charming local setting. “Festival Theatre is your local theater,” says Jason Richards of the St. Croix Falls Festival Theatre.

Few know the truth in “A picture says a thousand words” like those in the profession of photography.

In case you haven’t heard, St. Croix Recreation Center is a great place for the whole family to experience the winter (or summer) wonders of indoor ice. And this is thanks in no small part to the numerous employees and occasional volunteers behind the scenes at the space.

Joan Molloy grew up in Oberlin, Ohio, and began playing the piano at age 5. From there she waited, perhaps a bit impatiently, to begin playing the violin at age 8. She hasn’t stopped since. Through the years, music has continued to be her way of life, profession and passion.

Nick Mundt actually looks forward to going to work every day. As co-host of some of the most popular shows on the Outdoor Channel, he works not behind a desk, but in front of a camera and out in the wilderness.

Where are you from, originally?

Reed Sigmund: Autumn is from St. Paul and I’m from Fargo, N.D. I came to the University of Minnesota as a child psych major.
