This Wisconsin Cotton Candy Cart Offers Flavors Like Champagne, Pop Rocks and More

Sarah Kubler, founder of Confection Cotton Candy, stands by a cotton candy cart, available for events in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Confection Cotton Candy offers original flavors, a cart for events and sealed bags for party favors or gifts.

Sarah Kubler is a mom of four with a family heirloom of sorts—a cotton candy machine. “It’s been a thing in my family for years,” Kubler says. “My dad used to do festivals and carnivals in New York.”

Relocation to the Midwest provided Kubler a chance to settle in as a stay-at-home mom. But with three of her four kids now school age, she found herself drawn to launching another small business—Confection Cotton Candy. Kubler takes her cotton candy cart to pop-up events around the St. Croix Valley. She’s been found spinning sugar at Hop & Barrel as well as at private parties, weddings, showers and school events.

People are surprised whenever they see her since most associate cotton candy only with fairs and festivals. They say, “Wait! You mean we can rent a cart?” Kubler nods a happy “yes.”

Kubler has expanded her cotton candy offerings beyond the traditional pink and blue. She wanted to put her own creative spin on it and make the experience more extravagant to be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

Some of her original flavor recipes include birthday cake, bacon, chocolate, peppermint, beer and Champagne (which contain no actual alcohol). Her customers also love the toppings offered by Confection Cotton Candy like Fruity Pebble cereal, Pop Rocks, edible glitter and more. Sealed bags of cotton candy make great gifts or party favors and can stay fresh for up to two months if unopened. Customers can mix and match flavors to build a custom box that can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.
