Spring break—for many of us in the Valley, it’s a week each year when we have to find alternative child care, or maybe it’s when you do everything in your power to avoid sunnier climes and the inevitable college crowd. But there’s a third category: perennial snowbirds or those who just embrace the season for what it is. As such, you might find yourself on a plane to somewhere sunny in the next couple of months, and if so, this is the guide for you. The attire you wear defines you even when you’re on vacation, says Val Aune, fashion collector and owner of La Rue Marché in Hudson. Here are some of her top picks to ensure you have a stylish trip.

One of the biggest worries while traveling, whether domestic or abroad, is fear of losing those expensive diamond studs. Sun hat, Beach Tote or Clutch
Hats and purses can be particularly tricky to travel with, so take it or leave it—but when you take it, be sure it’s got a pop of style. Any wide-brimmed hat will do for this utilitarian purpose, and a bag whatever the size of your essentials (don't forget the lip balm and sunscreen) might be just the ticket.
