While some might not think a winery is the most family-friendly outing on an autumn afternoon, Saint Croix Vineyards offers a delightfully different adventure that everyone can enjoy—stomping barefoot in a barrel of grapes.
Every year, the winery designates the weekend after Labor Day as their annual Grape Stomp celebration. The event is filled with old-fashioned grape stomping, live music and beautiful picnic settings. Drawings will determine who gets to compete in the stomping competitions, with winners chosen by audience applause for their stomping techniques. Competitions are held for both adults and children, and occur sporadically throughout the weekend. Everyone who would like to stomp grapes will have an opportunity, even if their name is not chosen for the competition.
In addition to the stomping competitions, visitors are also welcome to tour the facilities, listen to live music and sample the product (ages 21 and over).
