Ever pondered the stories behind Scandia's historic buildings? What businesses flourished on Olinda Trail and Oakhill Road in the early 1900s--and have you heard our city's tales of bank robbery, fire and tornado? Join us at the Scandia Creamery for a short presentation on historic Mainstreet Architecture from Ted Lentz--the preservation architect who oversaw the State Capitol restoration in St. Paul--followed by a walking tour of historic downtown sites ending with lunch at Meister's Bar & Grill. Tour stops with brief histories will include the Scandia Creamery, Mike and Heather Benson's House, the Scandia Bank Building and vault (Apothecary's Daughter), Scandia Mercantile, Elim Church, the Farmer's Bank Building (Dickins Pickins) and Meister's Bar & Grill (previously Shalanders Store). Tickets include pastries and coffee at the Creamery and a hamburger lunch at Meister's (vegetarian option available). Tickets available at scandiaheritage.eventbrite.com
