Stillwater Harvest Fest is a completely volunteer-run community event committed to supporting and donating to community organizations and nonprofits.
The Harvest Fest had a humble beginning but continues to grow each year. In 2005, two guys came together and decided it would be fun to host a pumpkin weigh-off to find the largest pumpkin in the U.S. Thus, Harvest Fest originated in a small greenhouse at Country Sun Farms before the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce got involved to help bring the event to downtown Stillwater.
By 2010, the festival held the world record for the largest pumpkin ever recorded. In 2015, the festival was the largest heavy pumpkin weigh-off event in the world and also held the North American record with a pumpkin weighing in at 2,185 pounds.
Each year, participants can expect a wide variety of fun activities for the whole family. Events include a chili cook-off, a pie eating contest, a tractor pull, a kids’ market and of course, the weighing of the giant pumpkins. A kids’ costume parade will take place on Sunday morning. A vendor market will have a wide variety of both food and non-food for you to browse and buy. The event will feature live music, and a beer garden will have a special glass mug available for purchase and comes with a complimentary first fill.
