Singing Her Way to Outstanding

Valley Teen Lillie Imm has the stage presence to compete for Miss Minnesota’s Outstanding Teen.
Future Star? Eighth-grader Lillie Imm is excelling on stage and in school.

Lillie Imm has been performing since she was very young. “When I was 3, I performed my first song and dance on stage,” Imm says. The eighth-grader, who attends Liberty Classical Academy in White Bear Lake, won Miss River Valley in February and moved on to Miss Minnesota’s Outstanding Teen competition in June. “I just love the experience,” Imm says. “It is so much fun. I made so many friends, and just have a great time singing on stage. I love doing the interview, too.”

Singing has been a huge part of Imm’s life, and it’s one of her favorite things about competing in these events. “I just love everything about it,” Imm says. “I love connecting with the audience. It’s so fun to be on stage.” Imm has performed at a Minnesota Timberwolves basketball game and performed the national anthem at the Veterans Memorial Ceremony in Stillwater on Memorial Day.

Liberty Classical Academy helps prepare its students for speaking and presenting by having them participate in speech meets, a skill Imm says she transfers to her pageants. In line with her ambitious spirit, Imm already is eyeing colleges and hopes to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she’s planning on majors in performing, songwriting and entrepreneurship.
