It’s spring, which means artists and art lovers soon will be gathering in Stillwater’s Lowell Park for the annual Rivertown Art Festival on May 30–31. “Lowell Park, right on the edge of the water, is a marvelous place to come out on a spring day,” says Todd Streeter, executive director at the Greater Stillwater Chamber. With sweeping views of the river and downtown Stillwater, few places in town are more picturesque. It’s no wonder so many in the St. Croix Valley enjoy attending one of the area’s most popular events.
The Rivertown Art Festival began 37 years ago in Stillwater, and today it hosts approximately 135 artists who specialize in a wide variety of mediums. One of the best parts about the Rivertown Art Festival is its festive spirit, with live music and a beautiful setting. “You can’t have a better venue for an art event like this.” Streeter says.
