Friends Book Donations Drive

Donate your gently used books to the Friends of the Stillwater Public Library.  The Friends will collect books on Saturday, March 28 and Saturday, April 4 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the library parking ramp on Third Street. 

None of the following items will be accepted: encyclopedias, magazines, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, textbooks, religious materials, National Geographic, videos, cassettes, partially used puzzle books. Read more about Friends Book Donations Drive

Japanese Zen Gardens

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. for Japanese Zen Gardens. Japanese Zen Gardens are quiet places to reflect on the beauty of nature. Learn about the art of Zen gardening with artist Jeanette Dickinson. Then build your own Japanese Zen garden using a variety of miniature objects including stones, sand, and small model greenery. Class is for adults.

The Office Trivia Night

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. for The Office Trivia Night. How well do you know NBC’s classic comedy The Office? Find out everything you know and don’t know about Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. You are invited to compete for the title of “Assistant to the Regional Trivia Manager” at The Office Trivia Night! Prizes will be awarded to the winners! For teens ages 12-18.

Spring Break with Mad Science : Dinosaurs for K-6

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Monday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m. for Spring Break with Mad Science: Dinosaurs for K-6. Dinosaurs are extinct…or are they? Put your paleontology hat on and explore the world of these prehistoric beasts. Compare your footprints with a Triceratops, and your jawbones with a Camptosaurus. Take part in a simulated dinosaur dig; can you figure out how to put the skeleton together? Take home your own fossils and a T-Rex tooth cast. Art Shanty Projects

Come out to Lake Harriet to explore a village of ice houses-turned-art studios. With over 150 artists and more than 20 shanties, let your imagination run wild across the ice as you explore the make-shift village. The AdventureMN Film Festival

Come support local filmmakers at AdventureMN Film Festival. This is a great opportunity to watch some short films that you might not normally get to see. Travel Adventures and Food

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Wednesday, February 26 at 6:30 p.m. for Travel Adventures and Food. Enhance your winter armchair travel reading with travel adventure stories and a sample of an international recipe.  We will hear stories and see photos from two former Peace Corps volunteers: Abbey Weiler, who volunteered in Thailand from 2017 - 2019, and Joshua Koepp, who volunteered in Guinea from 2016 - 2019.  River Market Co-op will provide samples and discuss a recipe from our international cookbook collection.   Read more about Travel Adventures and Food

Pop-Up Book Club for Adults

We invite you Stillwater Public Library on Monday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. for Pop-Up Book Club for adults, with the theme of Looking Ahead in the 21st Century. Join library staff and neighbors for a thoughtful community discussion of our global world. Read one or more titles from our suggested list of four, and we will gather in the library for an evening of lively and insightful conversation. We will prepare focused questions based on the selected nonfiction books.

Legofy Yourself - Create Your Own Minifigure for kids 11+

Join us at Stillwater Public Library on Saturday, February 22 at 1:00 p.m. for Legofy Yourself - Create Your Own Minifigure. Let’s make minifigures! In this fun program, you’ll get the chance to decorate your own minifigure made out of resin. Learn the process of mixing resin and epoxy, and design to your heart’s content. For ages 11 and up.
