Childhood and adolescence should be a time of joy and adventurous spirit. But life isn’t always easy. Fortunately, during times of struggle, our local schools are there to help students and their families navigate through mental health issues in order to reclaim their joy.
Beginning with our August 2015 issue and continuing annually, St. Croix Valley Magazine will celebrate a select group of accomplished high school students who are entering their senior year.
It may seem simple—helping stack books at your child’s elementary school book fair, chaperoning a fourth-grade trip to the zoo or visiting your grandchild’s classroom to help sew pillows.
This Fall, the St. Croix Valley’s only faith-based Montessori preschool will mark a decade of helping kids value their individuality. Lead teacher Karen Anderson says the preschool “hopes to set a foundation for learning in every student.”
When Chuck Ochocki became the principal at Stillwater Junior High School five years ago, he offered the teaching staff a challenge.
